On the mend!

Grace slept through the night and woke up happy.... something she hasn't done in about a week!! Yay Gracie!!!

Feeling better! It sure looks like it.

So its 1 am and she is not sleeping. She isn't screaming either and I bet I get to sleep in tomorrow!

The weekend update.

On Sunday evening my sister and I went to pick my parents up at the airport as they were returning from thier big trip. We took Miss Thea along and made it to the luggage area long before my parents. We pantiently waited and eventually saw my two super tan parents coming down the escalator. Thea see's Grandpa and makes a run for him, and jumps up into his arms when they meet. It was a very sweet moment, one of the moments that I don't ever want to forget.

Instead of going out for a nice dinner we opted on getting take out from Leann Chin - so we could eat at home with Erick and Gracie. We had a nice dinner and heard about the big trip.... I chimed in and said "That sounds like a fun trip to go on. I hope to go someday." My dad said "You should come with us next year - we leave Feburary 9th!" and of course I said "We're there!!" So Erick and I are going to spend a week with my parents in the islands.... and Dad and I are going parasailing. I can't wait!

My parents visit coincided with Grace's relapse of a nasty double ear infection. Lucky them! So the visit was more strained than normal. Thea enjoyed all her Grandma and Grandpa time... This morning Gracie spent quite a bit of time cuddeling up to her "Nana" Cindy. It was nice to see them.

This afternoon I brought Gracie into see her doctor about the ER trip this weekend and those nasty ears. She is doing a little bit better but is still struggling with resting and sleeping. Grace was able to get some ear drops that numb her ears and we're told to keep on the new antibiotics. I am hoping that we are able to kick this soon. Grace's doctor seems to think that if these antibiotics don't do the trick then its time to see the ENT and talk about tubes.

The Urgent Care Blues

At 1:54 am I got my clothes back on and got Grace's snowsuit and hat on. After a few more hours of crying it was apparant that she wasn't going to sleep until she got some different medication for her double ear infection that she was diagnosed with last week. So off we went to the emergency room / urgent care in our area in hopes of getting something to sooth her pain, and allow Gracie and everyone else in the house to sleep.

The urgent care was empty, so we were seen pretty quickly. Grace did well, she even let the nutty nurse take her temp the most intrusive way with out any fuss. Upon inspection of her ears it was yet a raging ear infection. The doctor suggested I bring Grace back to her doctor on Monday and sent a copy of the file notes from the night with me home. The ER doctor felt that she should see an ENT and I am sure that Grace's doc will say the same. She has been so miserable with those ears....

Tonight my parents are returning from their long trip.... so it should be an interesting night.

A very busy Friday.

Its 9pm, and I feel as if I have been up for 48 hours straight. Sure, its the end of the week, a very busy week at that. Looking back on the week I feel a huge sense of accomplishment. I made a few trips to the vet in New Prague today, two trips to Bloomington, and spent time at the post office - and was home in time to let the house keeper in. Needless to say - I'm quite tired and should hit the sack early. The weekend has arrived, and I am already looking forward to Tuesday - the first day I can kick back!

Erick and I were able to get all the paper work gathered up for the five passports we need for our spring vacation. The pictures, the birth certificates, marriage certificate needed to document my name change since my last passport, and all those mug shots - done. On Tuesday we went over to the county office and got in line for our "adventure book" and $466.00 later we were done. Now its just a matter of checking the status of our application before booking our trip... well that and deciding between Mexico and the Carribean.

Today I had to bring Mathilda to the vet to have some dental work done. Yes it was time for another doggie dentist trip. Now both my dogs have clean enough teeth to be on the Orbitz chewing gum commericals. Gertrude had a lot of plaque build up on her back teeth, where Mathilda had it all over. Mathilda has gingavitus and is on antibioitcs now for a week to take care of her various mouth infections. Guess who's going to be brusing Tilda's teeth twice a day now.... Nina's gotta love the joys of dog ownership!

The weekend should be filled with a handful of projects I'm working on, with a dash of dance with Thea of course, and a visit from my parents who are returning from a big vacation. The girls are always happy to see Grandma and Grandpa - and it will be fun to hear about their latest trip.

A really bad idea.

I gave Princess Grace some ravioli for dinner. Erick arrives home just as I finished setting the table, as Grace is already eating. My handsome husband says "Who's idea was this?"

Ok, the idea was mine. I forgot a bib. But you have to admit she is adoreable in your pasta sauce!

No Mommy I didn't use your camera.

"Are you sure Thea? It sure looks like you did use mommy's camera."

"Well Mommy, maybe I just used it a little tiny bit."

A day in the life.

Thea enjoyed spending some time riding on Grace's zebra this morning. Its such a fun toy but Grace doesn't seem to have the attention span to play with it for more than a few minutes at a time.

While Thea played with the zebra our Miss Grace enjoyed spending time in her most favorite spot in the world - Mom's Pantry. She was trying to climb up to where her mommy keeps the shortbread cookies.

Of course while all this is going on.... Trudie decides its time to take a nappy. She has a real rough life.

Yay!! Another picture of Gracie that isn't just a blur of color. Here she is in the high chair again - giving me a big smile. My sister says her coworkers seem to think she looks like one of the Olsen twins from Full House.... Perhaps!

Happy Valentines Day

It was one of those marathon days today... I didn't get to spend more than a half hour in the same room with my husband. Thankfully I had another valentine...... Isn't she a doll?
